Melinda Manlowe, a graduate of California State University, Long Beach, joined the LBCC faculty in 1997. A former Director of the Speech Team Speaks, she enjoys the performance elements of Speech Communication. Melinda teaches Public Speaking, Oral Interpretation, Argumentation and Debate, Small Group Communication, Interpersonal and Intercultural Communication. She also co-hosts the Oral Interpretation Showcase each Spring semester. “The purpose of education is to enable one to develop their potential as a human being, and as an educator, I am always humbled by my part in this process.”

Ms. Moorhead is beginning her 12th year as an adjunct Speech Communication faculty member. In addition to teaching Oral Interpretation, Public Speaking, Interpersonal, Intercultural and Group Communication for LBCC, Ms. Moorhead also has added expertise in teaching Gender Communication and has taught Argumentation and Debate as well as several Honors level courses. She is deeply committed to her student’s success and creates a learning environment that is both educational and fun! She holds a B.A. degree in Journalism and Mass Communications and a M.A. in Communication Studies.
